Fashion Fusion 2018 Review

Last Friday I attended the Fashion Fusion catwalk event at The Apex in Bury St Edmunds. I’d been meaning to go to the event for a couple of years now as it raises funds for St Nicholas Hospice Care.

The event began with a welcome drink of prosecco and a wander around the stalls. I fell in love with the illustrations by Kimberly Godfrey, who had a stall at the show and was creating personalised drawings during the evening. Her fashion illustrations are simply stunning! I bought four of her cards with the plan to frame them and put them up in my office. I’m obsessed!

The catwalk show itself was full of fun with the crowd creating a fantastic atmosphere to cheer on the models. Pam Davis from Fashion Candy Style (and the Suffolk Fashion Show) was the compere for the evening. I loved her bright yellow wide-legged trousers, very on trend!

It was great to see local brands such as Javelin, Trete, Cabana and Dapper Fox on the runway. It just goes to show that Suffolk has some serious style potential!

I especially enjoyed seeing the collections from West Suffolk College students. The students are so talented and had created garments that you would expect to see on the runway at London Fashion Week. We are lucky to have such a great source of creativity in the county and it seems the younger generation will be carrying on this tradition.

Fashion Fusion was a great way to start the bank holiday in style!
