A Day Out In Ipswich

Miss Quirky Kicks and Essential Vintage

In partnership with All About Ipswich

Last weekend I enjoyed a day out in Ipswich with my good friend Jo. Ipswich has a fantastic range of independent stores to explore. As my readers know, I love to discover new local businesses (and have any excuse to shop!) so we set off to check out a number of these unique stores.

First stop was Miss Quirky Kicks on Orwell Place. This was my first-time visiting Miss Quirky Kicks and I’ll certainly be back again soon! You’ll find a large array of crystals, incense, beautiful unique jewellery (I had to treat myself to a pair of earrings), candles, gifts and homeware.

We then crossed the road to visit Essential Vintage on Eagle Street. If you love searching for vintage pieces like me, then you must pop in next time you’re in Ipswich. It’s always a thrill to find a one-of-a-kind item that you’ll know no one else will be wearing. Plus, you’ll be helping the planet by shopping sustainably! It’s a win-win.

Heading back towards the centre of town to Queen Street we continued the eco-friendly shopping by visiting Zest Charity Shop. Zest sells pre-loved clothes to raise funds for St Elizabeth Hospice’s Young Adult Services. Offering men and women’s wear, the team pick out the best quality preloved clothes as well as items of homeware, gifts, books, records and stationery. There’s also a refill station for cleaning products.

Next up was a trip to Ipswich’s much-loved gift shop, Loveone. Established in 2007, Loveone is on St Peter’s Street, where you’ll find a number of fabulous indies. Loveone stocks plants and prints, candles and cards, jewellery and jumpers. There’s something for every age and every style. Whether you’re looking for an individual piece of home décor, or a unique gift for someone special, you’ll find it at Loveone.

Our penultimate stop was Zeebra Chic. Based in the centre of town on Dial Lane, Zeebra Chic has a selection of clothing, shoes, accessories, homeware and gifts. This is a must visit for Christmas presents, and you’re very likely to find some treats for yourself too!

Finally, we popped into DJV Boutique on Cox Lane. This award-winning independent clothing store stocks exclusive and exciting niche fashion labels. If you love sourcing stylish pieces for all occasions, then this is the boutique for you. With an array of vibrant colours and glamourous designs, you’ll find everything you need to update your wardrobe, including handbags (my personal favourite!).

Whether you’re starting your Christmas shopping early or needing an autumnal wardrobe refresh, our local boutiques will be able to help!
