New interior store, Pignut, opens in Woodbridge

Woodbridge has become a real hub for independent stores in the last couple of years. One such independent that has recently opened on Market Hill is Pignut, a new interiors and lifestyle brand that creates the most gorgeous country inspired patterns and designs.

Founded in March this year by Claudia Roberts and Jackie Eades, the pair worked incredibly hard to launch the brand just 12 weeks later at the Suffolk Show. The month afterwards the first Pignut store opened in Woodbridge and I was lucky enough to attend the launch party.Inspired by the Suffolk countryside, Pignut has been named after the wild spring flower so prevalent in the great British outdoors and focuses its designs upon casual country living and traditional craft techniques.

Claudia has created 120 unique items that fit into 12 collections. From super soft geometric throws, to floral duvet covers and vibrant cushion covers embroidered with dogs and cats wearing flower crowns and glasses. The store has been beautifully laid out with faux flowers filling the baskets of bicycles hanging from the wall and table set out with pretty fish shaped platters and wine glasses. The wooden boat is the standout piece in the room, set out as a seat with plenty of plush cushions.Claudia and Jackie’s main aims were to offer items that were priced affordably, but manufactured fairly without compromising on quality. The duo flew to India twice to visit family-run factories to ensure the working conditions were ethical and that all of the products were absolutely spot-on.

And spot-on they are! The products are simply gorgeous and can be mix and matched throughout the home as the pair have cleverly chosen neutral colours of grey, cream, white and stone, with bold reds and blues. It’s a good job I’ve got my new house to decorate as I can just see myself getting carried away every time I visit!
