Solo Spa Day at Bannatyne Spa Bury St Edmunds

Last Sunday I went for a solo spa day at Bannatyne Spa Bury St Edmunds. One of my lovely friends bought me a voucher for my 30th birthday and I was keen to book in some pamper time ASAP (lord knows I needed it!)
I’ve been to the Bannatyne Spa Bury St Edmunds a number of times as they always have great deals. This time I opted for the Sand, Seaweed and Spa Day for One.
The offer included a detoxing body scrub, seaweed oil body massage and relaxing facial, as well as use of the facilities.
The spa felt very Covid safe with the reception staff taking everyone’s temperatures before checking in.
I hired a super soft gown and towel and headed straight for my treatments. The scrub and body oil were both super relaxing. The facial was also amazing – my therapist (I think her name was Brooke, so a big shout out to her!) gave the most soothing facial massage. The treatments were the perfect way to start a spa day as you leave the room feeling totally peaceful and blissed out.
From there I went to the relaxation room to lie on the heated stone loungers. I think they must have limited the number of people in the spa as I was by myself in that room for about half an hour.
I then headed poolside to enjoy reading a book and using the facilities (I’m currently working my way through the Bridgerton series – I can highly recommend!). The pool, steam room and sauna were open with limited numbers allowed at any one time.
Pros of going for a solo spa day:
- You can take as long as you like in each room/area
- Catch up on your reading
- A great excuse for a digital detox
- Quiet time just for you
I’ve also heard that Bannatyne Spa Bury St Edmunds has just opened a vegan restaurant, so I’ll definitely be heading back to visit that!
What’s something you love doing by yourself?
