For three weeks this summer you will have the chance to go on an Art Walk in Ipswich!
Art Eat Events have organised this event to take place between Saturday 24th July and Sunday 15th August. Participants can download a map from the Art Eat website and head off to seek out the art displays in the windows of indie shops around Ipswich.
Seventeen local artists will be exhibiting and selling their work during the Art Walk in Ipswich which has an emphasis on supporting Suffolk businesses and promoting wellbeing.
Cafes, restaurants, beauty salons, and shopping boutiques in the town centre will be putting up gorgeous and affordable art pieces in their windows. These include Applaud Cafe, Dance East, Dial Lane Books, Hullabaloo, Rockafella Industries, and Zest to name a few.
The walk will allow you to discover local artists such as Bev Howe, Catalina Carvajal, Danielle Hopkinson, David Stone, Hannah Huntly, Hannah Tooke, Jack Cripps, James Elms, Jemma White, Jitka Schejbalova, Joe Davey, Letha Evelyn, Megan Rose Clark, Mikaela Rakham, Nicky Durham, Owen J Berry and Sarah Nkugwa.
You’ll also be able to pop into the participating retailers to shop, browse and enjoy food and drink.
During the course of the event, there will be five intimate live music concerts. Tickets start from just £5 but be quick as there will be limited capacity of just 20 people per gig.
On Saturday 24th July, Harry Kalampakakis will be playing at On The Huh. Wednesday 4th August will see Sefo Kanuteh playing at The Green Room and Darien Prophecy will be singing at Shadow Gallery Barber on Saturday 7th August. Join Corrina Piatti at Hulabullo on Wednesday 11th August and Emma Buckley will be playing at Rockafella Industries on Saturday 14th August.
