Small Business Spotlight: August

Chloe puts together August’s small business spotlight! This new feature will highlight 5 local businesses each month. Drop us an email if you’d like to be included next month.
Miss Quirky Kicks, Ipswich
Miss Quirky Kicks opened in November 2018 and is run by Lawra Stubbs. Lawra was let down by the lack of unique bohemian and vibrant gift shops in Ipswich, so she opened her own. MQK is such a bright addition to the Ipswich town centre. This eclectic shop offers a wide range of gifts such as crystals, dreamcatchers, jewellery, ornaments, American candy and so much more. The store is so welcoming and there is so much to look at, you won’t know where to start.
Urban Jungle, Beccles
This is a popular place for plant lovers and Instagrammers alike. It is such a unique plant shopping experience. Urban Jungle is different to its competitors, this plant nursery gives you a beautiful experience by being surrounded by plants. The café at Urban Jungle is also an eclectic and vibrant experience. The tables are surrounded by gorgeous plants which creates a hideaway for you to enjoy your meal. Urban Jungle also holds workshops and events, you can even hire it.
Lady Norfolk and Lord Rust, Ipswich
Lover of vintage pieces and antiques? Lady Norfolk and Lord Rust is such a kitsch and one-of-a-kind vintage interiors shop in Ipswich. It is a beautiful combination of rusty, industrial, bright fabrics and soft velvets. This interesting combination is what makes the shop so different and eye-catching. There is bound to be something in there to add some magic to your home. Walking into it just feels like you have entered a treasure chest, you never know what you will find.
Treasure Chest Books, Felixstowe
This bookshop has been open for over 30 years and is (in my opinion) the perfect place for any book lover. They sell a huge range of books from antiquarian books to children books. They have great prices and deal. The most unique part of this bookshop is that it is, indeed, a treasure chest. From the outside, it looks small but when you go in, there are five rooms filled with books. They have over 45,000 books in the shop…so there is a lot to choose from.
Lottie’s Waffles & Coffee Shop, Bury St Edmunds
Lottie’s Waffles is an independent coffee and waffle shop, made fresh and to the finest standards using local produce. This stunning shop opened in October 2018 and has been a popular place for food and social media lovers. The interiors are breath-taking with a wall of silk flowers, velvet chairs in soft pink and grey and lots of gorgeous flower arrangements. Enjoy your food in a beautiful setting, it’s the perfect place to catch up with friends. There is a wide range of bubble or Belgian waffles, gelato and even an all-day brunch menu!
