Last year I went along to the debut Fit East Festival at Trinity Park in Ipswich – and I’m pleased to say that it’s back!

On Saturday 6 July, Fit East returns to Trinity Park for a fun, family day out full of engaging activities that will raise your pulse and bring a smile to your face.

Here are 8 reasons to visit the festival:

1. Try over 20 workouts, classes and workshops

If you’re tired of doing the same old workouts, then Fit East is the place for you! With over 20 workouts taking place in four arenas, you’ll be able to try out a number of new fitness classes and routines. Have a go at HIIT, Zumba, Fight Klub, trampoline fitness, Burlesque, Callanetics, Goat Yoga and much more!
You could find your new favourite fitness activity or something fun to do as a family.

2. Watch The Suffolk Games

The Suffolk Games will take place during the Fit East Festival this year. The Suffolk Games is a challenge for mixed pairs, with four different fitness challenges to complete in one day. One pair will be crowned The Suffolk Games Champions. Come along on the day and support the teams – you may even be inspired to take part next year!

3. You can learn from the best

Experts will be at the event giving talks on the fitness industry and its hot topics.
Andrea Thompson, lecturer at Suffolk New College and the World’s Strongest Woman in 2018, will be sharing her journey and detailing her interest for the sport and all of the accomplishments she has achieved.

Sam Cleaver from Stoic Performance will talk about female health and how the menstrual cycle can impact on weight and energy levels.

Healthier Leila will discuss body confidence and self-love, and how to live a healthy lifestyle in a sustainable way.

4. Delicious food!

There will be a selection of delicious street food to enjoy during the festival. Try Pizza i Paella, which will be serving gluten free, vegan and veggie pizzas and all types of paella. The Greenhouse Café will be offering plant-based food and the Soulvaki Shack will be serving authentic Cypriot dishes.

5. Dance through the day

During the festival there will be a number of fun fitness dance classes.

Shake That combines dance, fitness and maracas for a seriously fun, total body workout!

Strong by Zumba is high energy interval training synced to music and Zumba Ya Bumba is medium to high impact for all levels and age groups.
Just Jay Dance will return with cheesy tunes from the 80s, 90s and 00s. This class is all about having a good time while working up a sweat.

Socacize Fitness is a blend of Caribbean and African dance movements set to calypso, reggae and salsa music.

6. Speak to fitness professionals

There will be trade stands from suppliers, local gyms and fitness professionals who will all be there to speak to festival-goers about the industry, give advice and share knowledge.

7. Have a professional health analysis

Suffolk Strength Academy (the main sponsors of the event) will have a stand at the festival and will be speaking to attendees about health and nutrition. The team will be using in-body technology for health screenings.

8. Children under 12 go free!

Spend quality time with your kids at Fit East, whilst showing them how important it is to have an active, healthy lifestyle.
