8th March – #BalanceForBetter at Novotel Ipswich
Celebrate International Women’s Day and embrace diversity. The theme this year is Balance For Better and the event will include vibrant and inspiring guest speakers and a youth presentation.

9th March – Rocket Moon Shot! Workshop by Raptor Aerospace at Moyses’s Hall Museum
This introduction to the exciting world of rockets will intrigue big and little kids alike. The event uses safe air-powered ‘stomp rockets’ to teach the basics of how rockets fly and challenge children to apply the scientific method of testing and modifying their rocket. The rockets will be launched to see how close they can get to landing on the (vinyl) moon.

9th March – Macrame Wall Hanging Workshop at Urban Jungle Suffolk
Macrame is very much on trend right now! Learn how to make one yourself at this workshop in the stunning setting of the Urban Jungle near Beccles. The class runs for three hours, tools and materials are included – as are the refreshments!

9th – 10th March & 16th – 17th  March, 30th – 31st March – Snowdrop and Garden Walk at Kentwell Hall
Enjoy a walk through the woods at Kentwell Hall and spot the snowdrops that signal the arrival of spring. You can also join in the Story Book Trails and visit the pigs, sheep, chickens and other farm animals. You might even spot a lamb or two!

10th March – Wedding and Events Fayre at Issacs, Ipswich
Newly engaged couples will want to head down to the Wedding and Events Fayre at Issacs that will run between 11am-3pm. Look around the Grade I and II Listed buildings, speak to an array of exhibitors and enjoy a very special wedding themed fashion show hosted by Pam Davis from Fashion Candy Style!

16th March – Fram Makers Market
The Fram Makers Market returns! Shop local from a variety of artisans, crafters and producers at this regular market. The event will run from 10am-4pm at the Framlingham Unitarian Meeting House.

18th March – Here Come The Girls
Strictly Come Dancing fans won’t want to miss this! The Apex will be hosting Strictly stars Dianne Buswell, Amy Dowden and Chloe Hewitt, for a show that mixes ballroom and latin routines. There will also be a meet and greet opportunity!

22nd March – 23rd March – Nowton Star Party
Members of the Athenaeum Astronomy Association will be hosting a Star Party at Nowton Park near Bury St Edmunds. The moon will be full on 21st March, so as long as the skies stay clear, visitors should be able to see star clusters and Nebulae early. There will be presentations on Astronomy and fun activities for the kids.

30th March – Neanderthals & Us at West Stow
This illustrated talk will introduce the latest discoveries on the people who lived on the planet around 400,000 years ago. You will have the chance to handle original objects from this period and go on an hour long guided walk of the earliest hearth evidence in Britain.

31st March – Celebration of Steam at the Long Shop Museum, Leiston
An activity day to celebrate steam will take place at the Long Shop Museum in Leiston. The season will be launched with a number of large and small engines. Expect to find displays from local model engineering societies and classic cars.
