How to choose the perfect Suffolk wedding venue

Wedding Shoes - How to choose the perfect Suffolk Wedding Venue

For this post I have collaborated with lovely local wedding planner, Şenel Besim, from Bride & Belle, to discuss how to choose the perfect Suffolk wedding venue.

The festive period is a big time for proposals, so if you became engaged over the holidays, then this blog post is for you!

First of all – a huge congratulations! Now, you might already have had some thoughts about the dress, the colour scheme and the bridal party. But how about the venue?

If you’re considering getting married in Suffolk then here are some top tips for choosing the perfect wedding venue from Şenel:

Take your time choosing your venue

Finding your wedding venue is usually one of the first things that you will do once engaged, but don’t rush! Take your time to define your style and think about what is important to you about your wedding day.

Suffolk is fast becoming a super popular wedding destination for couples in the UK and abroad. Tranquil beauty, convenient location and stunning coastlines, rich forests and some of the most unique venues across East Anglia.

Find a venue that suits your style

Weddings in 2019 will be about allowing the couple’s personalities to shine through. This is something that is at the forefront of couples’ minds when they choose their venue.

Avoid the traditional wedding venue search websites and instead use Instagram and Pinterest to find a wedding venue that is unique, modern and represents your style.

Suffolk is lucky to host many different types of venues from glorious country houses, rustic barns, traditional hotels and bohemian woodland wedding venues – there’s something for all styles of wedding in Suffolk.

Consider your budget

It’s not pretty, but budget is really important when it comes to finding your perfect wedding venue in Suffolk. You cannot plan a wedding without knowing how much you wish to spend! Once you have worked out your wedding budget you will have a clear idea of the type of venue that will be suitable.

Think about your guests

It’s easy to forget that many of your guests will have travelled a considerable distance to be at your special day, so make sure that there is a wide range of accommodation nearby and consider supplying transport for your guests to and from your wedding venue location.

Visit the venue

Remember to ask lots of questions when you visit your venue. Is it a dry hire venue? What elements will you have to arrange yourself? Is there a venue coordinator? Will they be there on the day of your wedding?

Make sure you visit the venue more than once before you commit. Meet with as many of the staff there as possible and try and get a feel for how the venue runs. The staff at the venue will be the people that make your wedding day a success, so it’s really important that you trust them!

Consider hiring a wedding planner

The role of a wedding planner is to work with you to ensure your wedding day is exactly as you want it to be. This includes finding the perfect venue for your wedding, through to being there on the day of the wedding itself to ensure that nothing is left to chance.

Depending on your requirements for your wedding, I will provide you with a short list of 3-5 venues that I believe best match what you are looking for and once you have decided on a venue, I can take care of the booking too.
