Shop Local: Cosy Jumper Lookbook

At Orford Castle wearing Javelin black jumper, tartan scarf and Chaffinch bag

January. A blooming long, cold month. I don’t know about you, but all I want to do is throw on a huge cosy jumper, a pair of jeans and a woolly hat during this time of year. So, for my Shop Local Lookbook this month I’ve done just that!

On a bright, but chilly Tuesday, Gemma and I headed off to Orford to take some snaps. Orford is one of my favourite places in Suffolk – there’s tons of history, coastal walks and the Pump Street Bakery.

There’s always a touch of magic in the air in Orford. It’s off the beaten track, which I think helps, and at this time of year it’s very peaceful.

The Castle and its myths of the wild merman help to build a sense of mystery. The Ness across the water was used as a military testing site and there is a deep sense of covert operations and wartime secrets still surrounding the area.

I’ll write a full blog post about how to spend a day in Orford soon, but for now, back to the clothes!

This blue sweatshirt from Five Six Blue Boutique is a lovely spring colour. You can wear it as a layer with a big coat over the top, but when the weather warms up it will be the perfect transitional item to pop on with a pair of jeans.

I paired it with a gorgeous wrap around skirt, also from Five Six Blue, that I will be wearing LOADS during the spring. I feel that turquoise is going to be a big colour trend for S/S 2019.

This is such an easy sweater to pop on and still look chic. I feel like I just need a beret to add to this look! I picked this up in the Javelin sale earlier in the month and I’ve already got plenty of wear out of it. It would also look great with a mini, thick black tights and boots for this cold weather.

Shop Local: Javelin sweater and Helen

My go-to earrings of 2019 are from Helen Thrower . My mum kindly picked them up for me for Christmas after I fell in love with her jewellery designs at one of the Fram Makers Markets.

I popped into Moose Interiors and Lifestyle in Woodbridge to take a look in the sale and came out with this stunner. I love a classic black and white stripe, and the addition of the red just makes it stand out from the crowd.

Now this jumper is HUGE. I’m obsessed. It was another pick from the Javelin sale and is super comfy. I love the fringing on the bottom that makes it stand out from the other black jumpers in my wardrobe, and to be honest I love that I can eat as much pizza as I want whilst wearing it!

Jumper from Javelin in Bury St Edmunds and bag from Chaffinch in Woodbridge.

The bag in this photo was a bargain at £20 from Chaffinch in Woodbridge. They have bags of all colours under the sun, so if you’re a handbag gal like myself I’d definitely recommend popping in. I’ve had the scarf for a couple of years, but I think it was from The Store in Saxmundham originally.
