1st December – Old Jet Market
It’s the Old Jet Christmas Market on Saturday 1st December where local makers and crafters will be selling their wares. Find the perfect gift for loved ones from the mix of homewares, art and jewellery on sale.

7th December – Tutored Cheese and Wine Tasting
Slate Cheese, based in both Aldeburgh and Southwold, will be hosting a tutored cheese and wine tasting, on 7th December. The event will be showcasing the best of Christmas cheese and wine including truffle Brie and champagne! This event will be at The Mill Inn, Aldeburgh, from 7-9pm. Tickets are £30, including a goodie bag to take home, available from either Slate shop or email hello@slatecheese.co.uk.

7th December – Lavenham Christmas Fair
Lavenham Square will be transformed into a Christmas Fair on the weekend of the 7th December. There will be a fun fair, 50 stalls to shop, carol singers and Morris Dancers.

8th December – 5th April – Women 100 at Ipswich Art Gallery
The Women 100 exhibition marks the 100 year anniversary of the Representation of the People Act that gave some women the right to vote. The exhibition will showcase 100 artworks by women from the Ipswich collections. The works of art is from the 1700s to the present day and include contemporary artists Maggi Hambling and Jelly Green.

8th – 9th December/15th-16th December – Dickensian Christmas at Kentwell Hall
Step back in time to the Victorian era at Kentwell Hall and enjoy a traditional Christmas experience. The Hall will be decked out in Victorian finery with re-enactors creating a real sense of merriment. Mr Dickens will be reading an abridged version of his ‘A Christmas Carol’, Father Christmas will be awaiting your visit and there will be crafts to make as a family. Kids can train to be an elf and adults can visit the Victorian Tavern.

14th December – A Christmas Recital
The Red House in Aldeburgh will be hosting a festive recital in the Library of Christmas and winter songs by soprano Nazan Fikret. There’s nothing like Christmas music to put you in the holiday spirit.

15th-16th December – Christmas at the Mansion
There will be plenty of festive cheer at Christchurch Mansion this weekend with Christmas crafting, live music and activities for all the family.

21st-23rd December – Christmas Weekend at Snape Maltings
Father Christmas sails into Snape on Friday 21st December on a Thames Barge! In the evening, Snape Maltings will host a performance of Handel’s Messiah. On the Saturday, come along to shop for all your Christmas dinner ingredients at the Farmer’s Market. Other events during the weekend include Sing Christmas, Cara Dillon: Upon a Winter’s Night and The Snowman with live orchestra.

30th December – 2nd January – A Christmas Carol: A Broadway Musical
The Apex will be hosting performances of A Christmas Carol by the award winning CTC. This musical adaptation will bring this much-loved tale to life and perfectly complete the festive season.
