It’s Suffolk Day 2018! Here’s what you can do to celebrate

Suffolk Day 2018 is this Thursday folks! And of course I’m celebrating over here at See Suffolk.

Here are just some of the exciting events and activities to get involved with.

Suffolk Makers Market at Long Shop Museum

A selection of makers from the Fram Makers Market and Coastal Makers Market will be at the Long Shop Museum in Leiston from 10am-5pm. There will be free entry to the museum, cakes and teas from the WI and apparently the steam engines will be taking a tour around the town! My nephew would LOVE that!

Orford Village Fete

Orford will be celebrating Suffolk Day with a fete on the village green from 5:30pm-8pm. Perfect for those that want to party in the evening!

Suffolk Day at Easton Farm Park

Easton Farm Park will be open for FREE this Suffolk Day. From 11am-4:30pm you can take the kids along to hug a bunny, meet the Suffolk punch and hold a chick.

Summer Solstice Talk and Walk at Sutton Hoo

Explore what the Summer Solstice meant to Anglo-Saxon people this Suffolk Day. Watch the sun goes down on the longest day of the year over the burial grounds of Sutton Hoo.

Inn to Inn Treasure Hunt

Now this sounds so much fun! Grab a walking map from either The Ship at Dunwich or The Westleton Crown and then make your way to the other pub by taking a five mile or eight mile walk. As you go along there will be signs and objects on your route to take a photo of. Show your photos to the staff at the pubs to be entered into a pub draw.
