Hidden Treasure: Marlesford Mill

Last week we made the decision to go to have a look around Marlesford Mill to find some items and get some inspiration for our new house.

I’d often driven past Marlesford Mill with the intention to pop in, so last week we made the decision to go to have a look around to find some items and get some inspiration for our new house.

We moved in late October, but with busy work schedules we are still missing some vital pieces, including dining room chairs! We’ve gone for a vintage, country cottage vibe, so we knew looking around Marlesford Mill would give us some great ideas and perhaps even a few purchases!

With three storeys, 10,000 sq. feet and over 30 retailers selling furnishings, art and collectables, as soon as we arrived I saw some gorgeous garden tables that would be perfect for our new garden.

The Mill is a treasure trove of items, a rabbit warren of gorgeous items around each corner. With up cycled furniture, vintage records, delicate lanterns and rustic french pieces, I was in my element.

There was an area at the back of the Mill with a huge selection of vinyl records and a display honouring the late David Bowie, a lovely touch.

My favourite items were definitely the white bird cages and green lanterns (below). Once we’ve bought the other bits of furniture we need I’ll be back to buy those decorative pieces, they’ll look fantastic in our garden in the long summer evenings.
