Explore the picturesque Alde estuary via canoe and kayak. Hire the equipment for two hours, half a day or for the full day, and paddle between Snape and Aldeburgh through creeks and flood waters spotting wildlife and, sometimes, seals!

Bloody Mary Returns, Framlingham Castle

The Magic Ear Exhibition, Bawdsey Radar Station, Woodbridge
Sun 24th May – Mon 25th May
This unique exhibition, with its interactive displays, tells the story of an ‘Invention that Changed the World.’ It reveals how scientists, engineers and technicians came together at Bawdsey in the 1930s in total secrecy to prove that radio waves could locate aeroplanes, ships and other targets. Bawdsey became the world’s first operational radar station in 1937 and played a pivotal role in the Battle of Britain in 1940. Even I didn’t know that & I’ve lived in Suffolk all my life!

Orford Castle
One of England’s most complete keeps, this castle has a fascinating history and mysterious tales of a merman caught off the shore of Orford & kept in the tower. Want to find out more? You’ll just have to visit the Castle itself!

Watching Spring Art Exhibition, Blyth House, Halesworth
If you’re in the mood to see the signs of Spring, even if the weather isn’t, this exhibition features stunning original artwork by renowned artists including Steve Cale, Kate and Hannah Breach, Andrew Pitt and a selection of signed photographs by Springwatch presenter, Chris Packham.

Southwold Pier
If you still want to be by the sea, even if it’s raining, we advise heading to Southwold Pier where you can sit inside the cafes and enjoy fish ‘n’ chips, ice-cream or hot beverages and watch the sea. Or you can hit the amusements. Make sure you check out the hilarious Under The Pier Show with it’s alternative machines made by Tim Hunkin featuring a Fortune Teller Machine and a Photo Booth unlike any other!
